I spent most of the day looking at job websites and such. Good thing I kept a load of e-mails that got sent around the department pertaining to job searches...a lot of these websites are really useful. I found one with a load of jobs listed that actually didn't have the dreaded "minimum 3 years of experience required" in the description (god, that's everywhere!). Problem? They're pretty well all in the US. What's a Canadian to do? I mean, I wouldn't mind working in the US...preferably not too far, though. New York or Pennsylvania or the like would be good. You know, a place where the weather is comparable to ours. Sorry, but I need snowy winters. That's a requirement. But hell, I'd probably go anywhere in the northeastern states. I just need a job!
Of course, it's not that easy...I'd need a Green Card or whatever you need to work down there. I'll have to e-mail these places and ask if they hire Canadians in the first place. I also need to make a new CV. So much to do!
Thinking about it gives me brain-fry. There don't seem to be a lot of jobs in Canada, and most of them are in Calgary anyway. It doesn't seem like I'll get to stay in Montreal or anything. Sigh.
I could have had 3 years of experience by now if I'd just gone out and looked for a job with my BSc, but no, I had to waste 3 years of my life trying to do a stupid MSc. *kicks self again*
I was wearing one of my newer pairs of jeans today, and Kel asked if they were one of the pairs that was too big for me. Dammit! I'm really gonna have to take some of my older jeans to a seamstress. I can't keep up with this. And darn you, tummy! Shrink with the rest of me! Away, ye blubber!
And that reminds me...I wanna see Pirates of the Caribbean. They keep talking about it on the GAFF board and it sounds like a fun movie. After the disappointments that were Hulk, Matrix: Reloaded and (to a slightly lesser extent) X2, I need to see a good movie. T3 was great, and it was the first of the summer movies that I felt satisfied with when it was over. Loved the ending, though I won't spoil anyone who hasn't seen it ^_~.
Decided to multitask a bit while looking at those job sites, and I finally ripped some CDs I've been meaning to do for a while. Got some System of a Down and both Linkin Park albums on here now, plus some miscellaneous other stuff, and I gotta plan some new CDs to take to LG.
Perusing Kel's latest downloads... "The War of 1812" by Arrogant Worms. Freakin' hilarious! Er...to Canadians ^_~. Americans please take with a grain of salt, heh. Man, it's taking me forever to go through this music. I don't think I'll get through it tonight.
I get my hair fixed tomorrow. Yay!
Foo, Liz is leaving tomorrow for holidays and stuff, and she won't be back online other than a possible sparse e-mail until mid-August! Augh! How am I gonna last without our RP? At least this time I wasn't left with a horrible cliffhanger, but still! Waaaaaaaaaaa--*gasp*--aaaaaahhhhhh!!!!
Hopefully I'll fill the void by being able to write some fic so she'll have something to beta-read when she gets back. I hope, I hope. I'd really like to get these fics going again. Come on, inspiration, come on! Show yourself!
Inspiration: *hiding*
Ah, well. Maybe tomorrow. *is suddenly reminded of 2-3 songs that sing of "tomorrow" and realizes it's time for bed*
Yup. Bed. There is much to do.
