ZOMG look!
So! I know I haven't posted in here in like forever (I've been here the whole time, though, keeping up with everyone else's entries), but that's because I wanted this to be the next thing I posted, and I had to wait a little longer than I thought for it. ^_~

LOOK AT THE HAND!! :D
Paul proposed to me on the first evening of the yearly Lake George trip, on the beach just after sunset ^_^. No hesitation on my part--well, maybe a slight moment's hesitation because of emotional wibblies--before I managed to tell him "Of course!"
The ring is perfect...not a traditional engagement ring, but I find those kind of boring and pretty inconvenient anyway. My preferences for a ring were that it be silver-coloured with a thin band, and that the stone didn't stick up. I didn't even care what the stone might be and I didn't want Paul to spend too much on it--the idea of spending two months' pay (or even a whole two weeks' paycheque) is bloody ridiculous; we have more important things to spend money on :P. Anyway, I think he chose very wisely! Now I have to try not to be scared about wearing something so expensive o_o (this coming from someone who has never owned a piece of jewelry more expensive than $30 aside from my $300 graduation ring).
It unfortunately needs to be resized because I've lost almost 30 lbs since we last checked my ring size, so for the moment I'm wearing it on my middle finger so I can at least show it to people before we send it away to get that done next weekend. My family is pleased as punch, of course ^_^.
Hoping for a wedding in late September-early October 2010 and very much hoping for a Disney cruise as our honeymoon ^_~.
♥♥♥♥♥♥ I'm so happy!! At last at last at last!! I feel like I've been waiting so long just for confirmation on something I've known forever.

...It occurred to me that at some point I must begin planning a wedding, and then my brain went HOSHIT o_o.

As for non-traditional, Paul and I met partially due to our mutual love of Transformers, so there will be elements of that in there. For instance, I've planned for a long time to walk down the aisle to some of the score from the 2007 movie. And I know it's awfully silly, but I want a very small Autobot symbol on my dress somewhere (likely on the back). XD
Aside from that, I really don't know what else at this point!

(Anonymous) 2009-07-26 03:12 pm (UTC)(link)I've been to Disneyland and Disneyworld, but have never been on one of their cruises. I vaguely remember seeing a documentary about how one of the Disney cruise ships stops where they've got Davy Jones' ship from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

I watched all the videos on the Disney cruise website and I saw the thing about the Davy Jones ship. I really hope we get to go on the Disney cruise--it just looks like so much fun!
And it's good to see you! *hugs*

And I'm so happy for that fateful night that Paul sort of 'accidentally' stumbled into our little reunion to say hi to me and zoned in on your deceptacons t. Hee! ;p

Actually it was my Autobot T-shirt ^_~. Either way, I have you and Facebook to thank for introducing us! Sometimes I still can't believe that I was so lucky.

I like your ring. I had very similar requests for my wedding band.
