Heh. You know I have no interest in having children, so my opinion is biased from the start, but I don't find infants particularly cute normally. When some of the little ones start to toddle, or the first two or three years is when I find children most affecting, but I only really like them on an individual level once they've reached the age of reason. In addition to family and friends with children, there are a number of nice children in my neighborhood, who ask questions about the dog, or ask me about birds or insects or wildlife. This I don't mind at all, and often find quite charming, in total contrast to doting parents who feel the need to thrust their offspring at one with the demand it be held. I'd rather not, and it's not lack of familiarity -- I've toted my share of relatives infants, and can change a diaper and give a bottle at need with no qualms. I just don't find babies fascinating, which is probably rooted in my lack of interest in having any of my own.
