I'm not surprised by the email-fellow's temerity either, sadly enough. You replied to him once, so of course you'll happily keep doing things for him! (It's a misconception he's unfortunately not alone in having.)
In regards to the weight, congratulations! I know it's a nuicance not to have lost as much as quickly as you would like, but slow and steady is actually better in the long run (healthier in the losing, and more sustainable). I'm wrestling with the opposite problem -- I work like a longshoreman for two months out of the year (spring and fall) and I'm having more and more trouble keeping the necessary muscle mass on in between. I also can't just harden to the work while I'm doing it like I did when I was younger because that way lies injury now, so I have to put effort into maintenance. :P I don't mind more time at the gym too much but the cause (aging) is a pain.
